The Verano floor lantern, 30 cm across and 35 cm high. A woven column on a weighted base, made to stand in planting or either side of a door; the weave throws a patterned light rather than a flat pool of it.

Material

PE rattan over iron or aluminium, energy-saving LED

Natural rattan on a dark base

Rattan is wound by hand, so the pitch of the winding and the depth of colour vary between pieces and from the photographs. On solar models the run time depends on how much direct sun the panel actually saw that day.

Specifications

Care: Wipe the rattan with a dry soft cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry at once -- standing water swells natural fibre and PE rattan alike.
Solar models: keep the panel on the top clear of dust and leaf litter, which is what shortens a night's run more than anything else.
Charge a new lantern in full sun for two days before first use, and bring it indoors over a long wet winter.
Indoor lamps: dust along the weave rather than across it, and keep them out of direct sun, which yellows natural rattan. Full care guide
