Care & Maintenance
Thoughtful care helps preserve the beauty and comfort of your furniture for years to come. A few simple habits can make all the difference.
Always follow the care instructions supplied with your piece. Materials and finishes vary, so use these general guidelines alongside the product's specific recommendations.
Everyday care
- Dust regularly with a soft, clean cloth.
- Blot spills promptly rather than rubbing the surface.
- Use coasters, placemats and protective pads beneath hot or heavy objects.
- Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and rough cleaning pads.
- Lift furniture when moving it to help protect joints, legs and flooring.
Timber & teak
Wipe gently with a soft cloth, lightly dampened where the finish allows, and dry immediately. Avoid standing water and prolonged exposure to direct heat or strong sunlight.
For outdoor teak, follow the supplied cleaning instructions and avoid pressure washing. Use oils, sealers or other treatments only when recommended for your piece's finish.
Stone & marble
Blot spills immediately and use a soft cloth with a cleaner approved for the stone and its finish. Avoid acidic cleaners, including vinegar, and protect surfaces from drinks, oils and hot cookware.
Follow the product's instructions for sealing or specialist maintenance.
Fabric upholstery
Vacuum gently using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and loose debris. Blot spills with a clean, dry cloth and follow the care label before using any cleaning product.
Fluff cushions regularly and rotate them where the design allows. Removable covers should only be washed if the care label explicitly permits it. For persistent marks, consult a professional upholstery cleaner.
Leather
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Blot spills gently without scrubbing.
Use only cleaning and conditioning products approved for your leather type. Test any approved treatment on a discreet area first.
Metal frames
Clean coated metal surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soapy water where permitted by the care instructions. Remove any soap residue and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent-based cleaners.
Outdoor furniture & cushions
Keep outdoor pieces clean and allow them to dry fully before covering or storing. Store cushions in a dry, sheltered place during prolonged wet weather and when not in use for extended periods.
Use suitable protective covers when recommended, and follow each product's guidance on weather exposure.
