The Ithaca sofa, 185 cm wide, 87.5 cm deep, 64 cm high, with the seat at 38 cm. Seats three without crowding. Teak posts at the four corners with the arms and back wound in charcoal cord between them, so the timber shows as four clean uprights and the weave does the rest.

Material

Solid teak imported from South America, waterproof fabric over high-density foam

Natural teak with charcoal wound arms

Teak is a natural material. Grain, colour and the pattern of small surface checks differ from piece to piece and from the photographs. This is the timber behaving as it should, not a defect.

Specifications

Care: Teak arrives golden and silvers to a soft grey over roughly nine months outdoors. Both states are correct -- the timber loses no strength either way.
To hold the golden tone: clean twice yearly with warm soapy water and a soft brush worked along the grain, then seal once fully dry.
To let it silver: rinse and do nothing else.
Store cushions dry when the furniture is not in use for long stretches. Full care guide
